5 Favorite Disney Trip Packing Essentials
When it comes to planning and packing for a Disney vacation, there are quite a few must-haves. These essentials will help keep your vacation rolling in the right direction. While I firmly believe that every family is different, I love to show you what works, and doesn’t work, for me and my family…so you can make sure you are prepared for your Disney trip before you arrive.
Packing lists for Walt Disney World or Disneyland can be quite lengthy. Don’t worry, if you’re like me and you love a good checklist to help you shop, prepare and pack for your trip - I’ve got you covered with my Simple Disney Trip Packing & Preparation Checklist.
Today, I’m just sharing my 5 favorite must-haves that I always make sure we have for our Disney trips! So let’s get to it…
5 Top Must-Haves For Your Disney Trip
1 - Portable Chargers
Although you’ll be making memories, you’ll be using your phone A LOT on Disney trips. Between checking showtimes, booking Lightning Lanes and taking photos, your phone gets turned on and off a lot throughout the day and your battery is likely to die. Portable chargers are perfect for charging your phone on the go - while you’re walking through the parks or taking a break at your favorite restaurant.
2 - Hand Sanitizer
There’s germs everywhere. It’s just a fact of life when it comes to traveling. Hand sanitizers, wet wipes, cleaning wipes and sanitizing spray are always a good idea to pack for your trip. Whether you wear a fanny/crossbody style bag or a backpack through the parks, it’s easy to pack a small travel bottle of hand sanitizer - just don’t forget to use it before you start chowing down on your churro!
3 - Cooling Fan
Orlando is known for getting HOT in that Florida sun. A cooling fan is one of our top must-haves for the parks. Even if it’s a day when we’ll be wearing a sweatshirt and leggings in the morning, by afternoon you can be so hot that you’ll be thankful you packed the fan. I like to store two or more portable fans in a small packing cube and keep it in the bottom of our stroller. Our favorite fans are foldable ones that would also be an easy size to keep in a backpack all day.
4 - Blister First Aid Items
After all of my Disney trips over the years, my recent trip to Walt Disney World with three park days in a row was the only time I suffered with blisters and boy was I happy to have some blister essentials already packed in my bag. These helped save my feet for the rest of the trip making it possible to push through and enjoy the rest of those thousands of steps across all four parks.
5 - Refillable Water Bottles
Hydrate! No matter what time of year it is when you’re visiting Disney World, you’ll be thankful to have a resuable water bottle to help keep you hydrated throughout the day. We’ve used many different water bottles over the years and these are by far our favorites for bringing to Disney trips. We use carabineer clips to hang them from our stroller during park days and easily slip them into backpack water bottle pockets during airport travel.
Expert Tip: You can ALWAYS get free ice water from quick service dining locations and can use that cool water to refill your water bottle. We tend to plan ahead and fill our water bottles in the resort room with ice and water from water bottles we order with a grocery delivery. Then sometimes we’ll bring extra water bottles with us into the park to refill our bottles throughout the park day.
Are you feeling more prepared now for your Disney trip packing? Sometimes it feels like preparing for the trip takes much more energy than the trip itself, but I like to make it an enjoyable part of the planning process by making sure we’re prepared so we can enjoy the magical moments and make more memories.
